Agents of Disease is taught along with our units of plants and animal systems. We look at how different pathogens can “disrupt the health of an organism.” Our TEKS also include how bacteria can help organisms, but we cover that in Ecology. This lesson was designed for when we first started distance learning.
Body Systems Labs are always fun for the students to do. They get up and get moving and make some observations about what happens in their own bodies. Some of it they can predict, but the WHY isn’t always as clear and labs can be a great way to connect what happens to what we learn in class. Some things, they never thought about so, it is really interesting for them.
