Towards the end of last semester I realized we had some serious problems with our graphing. I decided this year I would start earlier and spend time of graphing more regularly. This cereal graphing activity is something I’ve done before, but we spent more time on my expectations for graphs. The set up is easy and the student really do have to work on building better graphs. I also add in some time for peer reviews to give them a chance to reflect on what needs to be fixed before I grade them.
